Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 Highlights

The vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is organized every two years, Now the next will happen in the year 2026.  This year it was 10th VGGS, inaugurated by PM Modi and UAE president also made his presence as chief guest.

The 10th Vibrant Gujrat Global Summit is organized in Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, starting on 10th January and it will end on 12th January 2024. This year’s motto is “Gateway to the Future.”

One of the influential personalities who attended this remarkable event is Mukesh Ambani, who is currently chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, which has the maximum market value, He gave the speech and said that “No power can stop India from becoming a $35 trillion economy by 2047. The businessman’s statement came during the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar.

Emphasizing that “Reliance was, is, and will always remain a Gujarati company,” Ambani said, “Reliance has invested over Rs 12 trillion in creating world-class assets and capacities across India in the last 10 years. Of this, more than one-third has been invested in Gujarat alone.”

He also said that he is proud of being Gujrati and adored PM Modi by adding that “he is the most successful Prime Minister”.

Another important personality Gautam Adani also participated in this event, Gautam Shantilal Adani is an industrialist, who is the founder and chairman of the Adani Group, a multinational conglomerate involved in port development and operations in India.

Gautam Adani, delivered an insightful and inspiring speech at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, outlining the company’s commitment to green energy, innovation, and Aatma Nirbhar Bharat. Emphasizing a vision for the future, the speech highlighted the Adani Group’s role in driving positive change across industries.

Gautam Adani on January 10 announced a Rs 2 lakh crore investment in Gujarat, focused primarily on the development of a green energy park, which, he said, would be be visible from space.

At the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Adani said the investment would generate around 1 lakh jobs. The Adani Group had committed Rs 55,000 crore during the previous summit and had already spent Rs 50,000 crore on various projects.

In the honour of PM Modi, he said “you not only predict future, but you also can shape it”.

Natarajan Chandrasekaran is an Indian businessman, and the chairman of Tata Sons was also present in VGGS event. Chandrasekaran noted, “Sanand is becoming home for our EV tech. We expanded capacity to meet growing demand for EVs.”

He emphasised Tata’s dedication to advancing technological infrastructure in the region, highlighting ongoing negotiations and plans for work initiation in the coming year.

In addition to the semiconductor unit, Chandrasekaran revealed ambitious intentions to commence construction on a 20-gigawatt battery storage factory in Gujarat within the next few months. This strategic move aligns with Tata’s broader vision to contribute significantly to the nation’s electric vehicle (EV) supply chain.

History of VGGS (Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit)

The Vibrant Gujarat Summit is an international event that was initiated by the Government of Gujarat in India to promote investment, trade, and economic cooperation. It has been held periodically, bringing together business leaders, investors, and policymakers from around the world.

It was first launched in 2003, and over the years, it has evolved into one of the Gujrat’s most important Indian forums.  It is organized by the Government of Gujrat and supported by various industry associations, both at the national and international levels.
