Delhi-Varanasi IndiGo flight receives bomb threat, Before takeoff on Tuesday morning, a tissue paper was found in the Varanasi-bound Indigo flight (6E2211) at Delhi Airport, in which ‘Bomb blast in 30 minutes’ was written. It was considered a possibility of threat. After this the crew members took the passengers out through the emergency gate. Some passengers were seen deboarding the plane through the wing. There were 176 passengers in the flight.

QRT and bomb disposal team was called at Delhi airport. The plane was searched, but officials did not find anything suspicious. Airport officials said that the pilot had found tissue paper in the washroom at around 5.30 am. How the tissue paper reached the washroom is under investigation.


This month, i.e. in 28 days from May 1 till now, this is the eighth incident of bomb threat including airport, school, hospital. Earlier on May 23, a bomb threat was made in Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi. Before that, the Home Ministry was also threatened with a bomb. All the threats turned out to be fake.

All passengers are safe and the flight is undergoing a detailed inspection. All passengers were evacuated through the emergency exits without incident” and airport spokesperson said. Further updates will be provided as the investigation continues. It was not immediately clear how many passengers were onboard the flight.

The development comes a day after the Mumbai Police said it received a threat call in which a caller mentioned that bombs had been placed at Taj Hotel and at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in the city. The police carried out searches at the premises but nothing suspicious was found.

Earlier on Sunday, the Mumbai Police control room received a bomb threat call in which the caller informed the cops that there would be a blast at McDonald’s located in Dadar.
